Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate

About This Program

The Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate program provides the foundation and knowledge for students to develop real estate decision-making skills and critically analyze real estate opportunities.

Competencies

  1. Discipline Specific Knowledge: Undergraduate real estate majors should understand theory and application in real estate, investments, and financial institutions. This also encompasses basic finance principles such as the time value of money, risk and return, asset valuation, capital structure, and the functioning of financial institutions and markets.
  2. Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills: Undergraduate real estate majors should be able to think logically about financial management problems in real estate. They should be able to choose and implement appropriate models and interpret outcomes so as to generate creative solutions to these problems.
  3. Communication Skills: Undergraduate real estate majors should be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. They should understand basic concepts of effective writing and public speaking.
  4. Information Technology: Undergraduate real estate majors should be able to apply information technologies effectively. These technologies include word processing, spreadsheets, statistical and financial software, e-mail, and networks.


 

Curriculum

Students must meet all lower-division requirements before enrolling for upper-division courses. Specified prerequisites are designated for certain courses.

Double Majors

Three Double Major options for the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Real Estate are available. Note that Double Majors need the same number of credit hours (120) as single majors. Real Estate undergraduates who pursue one of the following Double Major programs will not have the option of participating in the Fast Track Program in Business.
Completion of the Double Major is attained by including all of the following courses in the BBA Real Estate plan and completing with grades of C or better in each of the double major courses listed below:
